August July Font Review

As I sat down to design a candle label for my latest seasonal collection, I reached for August July, a script handwritten font that promises to bring elegance and personality to any project. The moment I typed in "Winter Glow" and hit preview, I knew this font would elevate the look of my handmade products. It’s not just another font—it’s a creative tool that brings a warm, personal touch to every design.

August July for Candle Labels and Seasonal Packaging

Testing August July on candle labels was an instant win. Its flowing curves and subtle flourishes add a handcrafted feel that feels right at home with artisanal products. I used it for a winter-themed label with the text "Cozy Nights" and paired it with a simple sans serif for the product description. The contrast made the label pop without feeling cluttered.

This font works best on short phrases and titles. For longer text, like ingredient lists or care instructions, I found it better to pair it with a clean typeface. But for decorative elements, such as holiday tags or seasonal signs, August July shines. Its legibility is strong enough for small stickers and labels, making it ideal for boutique packaging and handmade gift tags.

August July for Wedding Invitations and Elegant Branding

I recently designed a set of wedding invitations using August July, and the results were stunning. The font adds a soft, romantic tone that pairs beautifully with vintage or rustic themes. I used it for the couple's names and the event details, and then added a bold serif for the invitation title. This combination created a balanced look that felt both modern and timeless.

For handmade businesses focused on weddings, events, or luxury goods, August July can be a powerful branding tool. It helps convey a sense of sophistication and attention to detail, which is essential when creating high-quality stationery or custom designs. Whether you're printing on cardstock or creating digital templates, this font maintains its charm across different formats.

August July for Greeting Cards and Printable Wall Art

When I tested August July on a printable wall art piece, I was immediately impressed by how it transformed a simple phrase into a statement. Using the text "Bloom Where You Are Planted," I paired it with a minimalist background and a soft gradient. The font added a personal, artistic flair that felt like a unique piece of handmade decor.

This font also works well for greeting cards. I created a birthday card with the message "Happy Birthday, Love You to the Moon and Back" and found that it added a heartfelt, handwritten quality. It’s perfect for cards that need a personal touch, especially for handmade or custom printables. Just be mindful of spacing—too much text can make the design feel overwhelming.

August July for Tote Bags and Merchandise Design

Using August July on a tote bag design was a fun experiment. I added the phrase "Stay Curious" in a large, bold style and paired it with a simple graphic. The font looked great on fabric, giving the design a polished yet approachable feel. It worked well for both casual and upscale merchandise, making it a versatile choice for print-on-demand or small-batch production.

For merchandise like mugs, shirts, and tote bags, August July adds a stylish, personalized element that stands out. However, when working with smaller prints or tight spaces, it’s important to test the font at different sizes. Some of the more intricate swashes may not hold up well when cut with a Cricut or Silhouette machine, so adjusting the design for clarity is key.

August July for Digital Printables and Shop Listings

August July is a fantastic choice for digital printables, especially for planners, wall art, and printable templates. I used it in a downloadable planner page with the heading "Morning Routine" and found that it added a cohesive, elegant feel to the entire design. It pairs well with other script fonts or bold display fonts, depending on the desired aesthetic.

For shop listings, this font can help create a consistent brand identity. Whether you’re selling printable art, DIY kits, or custom designs, August July gives your products a professional, handmade vibe. Just remember to check the font licensing before selling any physical or digital items, as commercial use requirements may vary.
